Hell of a day-automobiles,bus, planes and many trains

Today we travel to continental Europe We rise at 4:30(am) and drive to Heathrow to return vehicle while still having problems negotiating roundabouts which seem to occur every 100 metres. Shuttle bus to airport-SFSG(so far so good), and a smooth check-in and breakfast in the business lounge-SFSG. Plane trip lands us in Zurich_SFSG-and train into Zurich main station-SFSG. Lunch at the station(no fondue) and then check for platform number on notice board; I then learn a new German word:"AUSFALL"; apparently it means cancelled and it is written beside the 1440 to Bregenz, which coincidentally is the train I have tickets for(SFNG).I leave my trusty Sherpa in charge of the baggage and try to find the ticket office; having completed my 10000 steps for the day I find the office, which is situated in Geneva. A very good natured Swissper arranges an alternative route involving 2 changes-thank God we travel light(not). I return to my trusty Sherpa who has given me up for dead and we embark on the next phases of our journey.
With each change the trains seem to be getting increasingly smaller(or is it decreasingly larger?)

Eventually we arrive in rainy Bregenz and taxi to our hotel who have no record of our bookings but manage to find a room for us in the outhouse.
Preprandial drinks in a smoky bar

and then a fine dinner.
